Advantages of VABS-IDE Compared to Existing CAE Software such as Nastran and Ansys:

1. Compared to Nastran and Ansys, tens and hundreds times faster for blade and wing conceptual designs with no numerical accuracy loss due to dimensional reduction by VABS code that was originally developed by Georgia Tech and Utah State University.
2. A design driven pre-processor, Advanced PreVABS, has been developed to efficiently generate VABS inputs (material layer lay-up and meshing) for rotor-blade and wing section designs using the geometry modeling outputs such as CAD and cross-sectional laminate lay-up schema.
3. The comprehensive CAD environment has the capability of creating geometry model using key points, lines, and surfaces as well as importing existing models from a standard CAD, such as .IGES files.
4. The Robust Optimizer has been incorporated with PreVABS and VABS modules, including two-phase of optimization.
5. The postprocessor (visualization tool) enables the visualization of geometry, finite element meshing, section deformation, stress and strain recovery distribution, etc. |
