FSI£¦AE:
This module includes the coupled fluid (CFD) and structural dynamics (CSD) solver as well as unified particle-based methods. The CFD and CSD solvers in ASTE-P are directly coupled to solve fluid-structure interaction (FSI) and aeroelastic (AE) problems. Since CFD solver is based on Euler and RANS and CSD is based on both modal decomposition and nonlinear finite element, the FSI & AE solver in ASTE-P can handle strong nonlinear problems such as flutter and LCO of aircraft. Furthermore, the particle methods do not need grid generation and deforming and are unified solvers for both fluids and structures, they are much more computational efficient than grid-based solvers. Moreover, reduced order models (ROM) are implemented in this module, including proper orthogonal decomposition ROM (POD-ROM) and Volterra ROM (V-ROM), thus, is tens to hundreds times faster than full-order and coupled CFD/CSD simulation. In addition, robust grid deformation algorithms for grid-based solvers have been incorporated to handle any large grid deformation for Euler/RANS based FSI/AE modeling and simulation. For grid-based solvers, both structured and hybrid CFD solvers are implemented to enable the capability for computing complex FSI/AE problems.
