Dr. Shouchun Deng has over 10 years experience in solid mechanics and its engineering application, and has about 3 years experience in multiphysics coupling as fluid/structure interaction, especially aeroelasticity, and its engineering application. Dr. Deng’s current research includes:
    (i) Modelling and simulating of Fluid-Structure Interactions (FSI) and its engineering application
    (ii) Reduced Order Models, as Proper Orthogonal decomposition- and Volterra-based ROMs
    (iii) Damage and fracture mechanics and their robust numerical algorithms
    (iv) Multi-scale modeling of plasticity and its numerical implementations
    (v) Microstructural modeling of deformation and failure in composites
    (vi) Numerical analysis and its engineering applications
Dr. Deng received his Ph.D. in solid mechanics in Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China, and his M.E. and B.E. in civil engineering and solid mechanics respectively. From 2007 to 2009, he was an assistant research professor at Institute of Mechanic, CAS. From 2009 to now, Dr. Deng is a senior scientist at Advanced Dynamics Inc. (ADI), and his main work is focus on developing algorithms and programs of FSI and ROMs.
