Dr. Liu has a demonstrated record of successful and productive research projects in studying control theory and computational mechanics for many years. She has hands-on and interdisciplinary experience in CFD, CSD, aeroelastic, aeroservoelastic(ASE) modeling and simulation for aerospace vehicles. Dr. Liu got a PhD from School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China. In the past many years, Dr. Liu has successfully administered many projects, and collaborated with other researchers. As a result of these previous experiences, she accumulated a wealth of scientific and engineering experience. Dr. Liu has published over 20 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. She is the reviewer of ASME Journal of Dynamics Systems, Measurement and Control, Applied Mathematical Modelling, Journal of Aerospace Engineering, Journal of System and Control Engineering, journal of Engineering Applications of Computational Fluid Dynamics, etc. Currently, she is a senior research scientist at Advanced Dynamics Corporation.
In Advanced Dynamics Inc., Dr. Liu focuses on the control system designs and stability analysis, which include classical flight control design, robust H∞ control design and μ-synthesis. All these control design methodologies have been studied and illustrated by F-16 fighter plane takeoff, pulling-up, and cruising. Meanwhile, she focused on studying the aeroservoelasticity (ASE) of aircraft. Aeroservoelastic (ASE) module in ASTE-P (a set of software developed by ADI Company) is designed to perform fast analysis of aeroservoelastic problems, such as aeroelasticity, trim of elastic aircraft, flutter analysis and load analysis of maneuver, ejection and gust response with/without a control system. ASE is based on CFD ROM of unsteady aerodynamic force and modal based CSD system, as well the original FEM model. Now, she is studying novel robust adaptive control methodologies for active aeroelastic wing shape tailoring for aircraft control and gust load flexible aircraft alleviation.
